     Yes, LeadSlingerStudios is still alive!
While I have a minute to catch my breath, let me update the site... finally.

The Comic Geek Speak Super Show 2010 was awesome. We (Shawn and I that is - Mr McMunn once again found himself oppressed by The Man) had a great time. We sold some books, a ton of sketches and got to see some old friends as well as make some new ones. The CGS guys, as always, treated us extremely well and ran a smooth, well-organized show. Look for us again next year and every year they do the show!

The Show Moment... Walt Simonson walking by the LSS table, looking at me (well, my mohawk) and saying "If I had enough hair, I'd do that." So for the record, that's John Romita Sr, Mike Grell, and Walt Simonson who have approached LSS with gracious/fun/cool comments at cons. Friggin' SWEET!

Now it's time to gear up for the Pittsburgh Comicon!  WOOT! With all due respect to the other cons we do every year, Pittsburgh is far and away our favorite. We always have a great time, hang out with the best and brightest fellow creators, meet the best comics fans, and are treated like royalty by Renee, Patrick, and crew. We will be situated very nicely on the corner booth near the VIP entrance (S072) with a table full of goods for sale, as well as a table dedicated to my artists (Jason Meadows and Jim McMunn for sure, Shawn Wagner hopefully, I'm still trying to convince his wife to let him travel un-chaperoned across the state with me).

2nd Annual N3RD Herd Scavenger Hunt! Yes, we are doing it again this year and we are doing it bigger and better. We have added a handful of very talented and creative contributors to the list this year and Renee and Patrick are very excited to be helping spread the word (look for details in the program this year). I am very happy to have added yet another creator to the list just this weekend. After a quick talk at the CGS Super Show, Mike Imboden (Fist of Justice) hopped on board. Sweet! As soon as some more details are hammered out, I will list all the creators and details here.

Pittsburgh Comicon Sketch Pre-Order List! Over the course of the next week or so I will be posting some samples of our artwork here that will be for sale at the show. In addition to being able to purchase those pieces, you will be able to pre-order Con Sketches right here so they will be ready for pick up when you arrive, Check back later this week for more info,

Again, a great big Thank You to everyone who came out to the CGS Super Show and showed their support this past weekend. And a great big Thank You to everyone who comes to the site and is planning on making the trip to Pittsburgh! We wouldn't be able to do it with you guys. The 'Slingers

     Happy New Year from LSS!
On behalf of all the people that make LeadSlingerStudios what it is, I would like to wish you all a very Happy and Prosperous New Year! Yes, LSS is still alive and well. I know the site hasn't been updated in, well, a looooong time. I have been waiting to post any updates until some outside projects cleared up and some LSS projects got rolling forward... Well, it looks like that might be a little further out than I had originally anticipated.

I wasn't going to announce any of this until details were more firm, but here are a few of the "outside" projects that put a bit of a halt on the LSS stuff:

(******* *******): Jason Meadows (inks, letters) is currently working on a horror project with
writer Jason E Becker and artist Karly Engracia that will see the light of day under (******* *******)
banner. Hopefully I will be able to announce the addition of a former collaborator as the books colorist
soon. The script is a really good read and the addition of Karly on pencils really pulled the project
together. His uber-realistic style is going to make this book shine. Details will follow as we march
          closer to print.

SLG: Jason Meadows (letters) is hard at work lettering "Adora Gone and the Electric Elephant" for
Slave Labor Graphics. Written by Chris Reilly with Jim McMunn pulling all the art chores, Jim was
kind enough to throw me the lettering gig (thanks Jim). The tone and approach of this book has really
allowed me to flex my muscles as a letterer and learn a few things. I will post more as it gets closer to
seeing print and is listed in Diamond Previews.

Image Comics or Random House (publisher to be determined): Jason Meadows (letters) has Jim McMunn
to thank for this gig as well. Jim is also handling all art chores (he's a machine like that) on this chapter of
the Chris Steven written "Fairytales of the Future" anthology book. I really like the story Jim and I are
working on and can't wait to see this finished book. Will advise as it gets closer to a print date.

Stephen R Lindsay: Jason Meadows has finally wrangled long-time friend Shawn Williams into writing with
him again. Shawn did the heavy lifting and wrote our chapter of Lindsay's upcoming "3:33" anthology book
with a few minor suggestions from Jason (solely to drive Shawn insane). I am happy to announce that art
duties on this story will be handled by LSS stud Andi Kurniawan, so you know it's going to look awesome!

TOP SECRET: I can't really say much about the project that Shawn Wagner is currently working on. It's
in the earliest stages of being written and I have seen the first 4 pages he pencilled for the pitch. They look
incredible. All I will say is that it is based on a very popular, long running television series that is still on
today. If the pitch is successful, and the project gets the green light, it's going to be huge. Best of luck boys!

Captain Bludgeon: Again, I can't really say too much about this project as it is Jason E Becker's baby and I
don't want to step on his toes. Becker has written one of the most inappropriately funny scripts I have ever
had the pleasure to read. Even though I have read the script numerous times, while lettering the pages I still
laugh out loud at the insanity that comes out of Becker's brain. Andi Kurniawan is pencilling this book also
and his artwork is exploding the script to life. If a publisher does not jump on this book, I will publish it
under the LSS banner, but I really hope it gets picked up as it deserves to reach a much wider audience
than I could hope to give it.

I can't help but think I am forgetting a thing or two. Will post more if/when I remember, but for now these are the things that are keeping us busy over here. As 2010 kicks off, I vow to get back on track with all things LeadSlingerStudios and get the books back on track. Stop back for updates (although I can't promise how regularly they will come) and as always, thanks for your support! We couldn't do it without you guys.

Jason Meadows and all the 'Slingers
